Vipers have reportedly parted ways with their head coach, Nikola Kavazovic, just four months after his appointment.
The Serbian tactician, who was unveiled in June 2024 on a two-year contract, was brought in to replace Livingstone Mbabazi with high expectations. However, after a series of disappointing results, the club has decided to end his tenure.
Vipers first suspended Kavazovic for seven days following a poor run of performances. During this period, he missed the club’s 2-1 victory over SC Villa at Kitende, a match that was handled by interim coach John Ayala Luyinda.
According to multiple sources, the club has now pulled the trigger on Kavazovic’s contract, opting to part ways with him.
Kavazovic’s short stint at Vipers was marred by inconsistent results, which put the club’s hopes of maintaining its competitive edge in jeopardy.
His exit comes as no surprise to some, given the pressure on Vipers to perform in both domestic and international competitions.
John Ayala Luyinda, who successfully managed the team in Kavazovic’s absence, is expected to take charge again when Vipers visit Wakiso Giants on Thursday.
