Newly promoted Lugazi FC have parted ways with head coach Sadiq Sempigi after a challenging start to their season. The club is yet to register a win, having played five games, drawn two, and lost three. They currently sit at the bottom of the table.
In a statement released by the club, Lugazi FC confirmed that they and Sempigi have “mutually agreed to part ways.” The statement expressed gratitude for Sempigi’s efforts, saying, “We would like to express our gratitude to Sempigi for his tireless efforts and services during the time we have been together and wish him all the very best in his future coaching endeavors.”
Coach Mbekeka Oliver has been appointed as the interim manager while the club searches for a permanent replacement. “The Club will be making no further comment until such time when the new head coach is appointed,” the statement added.
The decision to make a change comes as Lugazi FC struggles to adapt to the top flight following their promotion, with results proving elusive in the opening matches of the season.
