Kawempe Muslim’s dominance in the Finance Trust Women’s Super League continued as they secured their fourth consecutive victory with a narrow 1-0 win over Makerere University on Saturday.
The reigning champions, buoyed by a goal from Hadijah Nandago in the 15th minute, now sit comfortably at the top of the standings with 12 points from four matches.
Meanwhile, newly promoted Amus College delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Wakiso Hills 4-0 in Bukedea. Shalyne Ikalakala was the star of the match, scoring twice in the 15th minutes and 68th minutes.
Doreen Aujat added another goal in the 38th minute, while an own goal from Wakiso Hills’ Faridah Namirumu in the 83rd minute sealed the comprehensive win for Amus.
This result propels them to second place on the 12-team log with seven points from four matches.
Rines SS, on the other hand, registered their first victory of the season with a 1-0 away win over Tooro Queens in Fort Portal.
Phiona Arachi scored the decisive goal in the 65th minute, giving Rines their much-needed first three points of the campaign.
In other results, Kampala Queens and Uganda Martyrs settled for a goalless draw at Lugogo, while Olila HS and She Maroons also played out a 0-0 stalemate in Soroti.
The weekend’s fixtures will conclude on Sunday with a highly anticipated clash between former champions Lady Doves and She Corporate in Masindi.
