Express Football Club have announced the appointment of Badru Kaddu as their interim head coach following the departure of Baker Mbowa.
The club confirmed the news in a statement released on Saturday morning, highlighting the need for change after a disappointing start to the season.
Under Mbowa’s stewardship, the Red Eagles managed to secure only two wins in their first six matches of the Uganda Premier League (UPL), leading to increased pressure from fans and management.
In light of this performance, the club felt it was necessary to seek a new direction as they currently sit eighth in the standings with eight points.
Kaddu is no stranger to interim coaching roles; he previously stepped in at KCCA FC following the resignation of Morley Byekwaso.
However, his time there ended in a 2-0 defeat to URA FC, after which club legend Jackson Mayanja took over for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
As Kaddu takes charge of Express, he faces an immediate test with a challenging away match against Wakiso Giants FC at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on October 31st.
The Red Eagles will be looking to reverse their fortunes and build momentum under Kaddu’s leadership.
Fans and stakeholders will be watching closely to see how Kaddu navigates this pivotal period for the club, as they aim to improve their standing in the UPL and restore confidence among supporters.
