Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello has rounded out an outstanding October by taking home the Fortebet Real Stars Award in football, recognizing his contributions on both club and national stages.
Okello’s performance has been instrumental for his club, Vipers, and the Uganda Cranes, delivering a series of key plays that have kept him in the spotlight.
His efforts helped guide the Uganda Cranes to consecutive wins over South Sudan in the recent doubleheader, where he recorded assists in both the 1-0 and 2-1 victories in Kampala and Juba, respectively.
Okello’s goal-scoring prowess continued at Vipers, where he netted three goals in two critical matches, scoring twice in their 2-1 victory over Police and another in their 2-0 triumph over Wakiso Giants.
This consistency helped him outshine competitors such as Seiri Arigumaho of Mbarara City and Joseph Nambuya of Kawempe Muslim to claim the October Real Stars Award.
Arigumaho has scored the most goals in the UPL, six while Nambuya has kept the most clean-sheets in the WSL, four conceding no goal so far this season and that is how competitive the race was.
The Fortebet Real Stars Awards also recognized other sports talents, including Mike Mukula, who took the Rally award over Jas Mangat and Ronald Ssebuguzi.
And Augustus Owiny, who won in badminton, besting contenders Fadilah Shamika and Tracy Naluwoza.
The awards ceremony took place at Lazio Bar and Restaurant, where top athletes from various sports were celebrated for their achievements in October.
