The tour began with a solid start, as the Crested Cranes secured a 2-1 victory in Kinshasa on Sunday. Striker Fazilah Ikwaput contributed significantly, netting one of the goals that laid the foundation for the team’s success.

Following this victory, the team showcased an even more commanding performance in the second match, defeating DRC 3-1 on Wednesday.

Ikwaput shone once again, scoring twice in the 15th and 27th minutes.

Viola Nambi further solidified the lead with a goal in the 34th minute, bringing the score to 3-0 by halftime.

Although the hosts managed to pull one back in the 64th minute through Flavine Mawate, the result reflected the Crested Cranes’ dominance throughout the match.

Head coach Sheryl Botes praised her team’s efforts and adaptability, emphasizing the importance of these games in building confidence and cohesion ahead of competitive fixtures.

The Crested Cranes will return to Uganda on Thursday, with the Women Super League resuming on Saturday for matchday five.

This successful tour not only serves as a morale booster for the team but also showcases the rising talent in Ugandan women’s football.
