Sam Ssemugugu continues to make waves for Lugazi, scoring goals that are etching his name and the club’s into Uganda Premier League history.
Last week, he delivered the decisive strike in Lugazi’s 1-0 victory over seven-time champions Express at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.
This historic goal not only earned Lugazi its first-ever UPL win but also marked a memorable debut for interim head coach Oliver Mbekeka, the first female coach in the league.
Returning to their home turf, Lugazi hosted NEC for a matchup that welcomed Steven Bogere as the team’s permanent head coach, following Mbekeka’s brief role as interim head.
Ssemugugu once again stepped up, scoring the only goal in another 1-0 triumph over NEC, marking Lugazi’s maiden home win in the UPL and giving Bogere a perfect start with the club.
This back-to-back success reflects the new momentum and excitement around Lugazi’s UPL journey, with Ssemugugu and the fresh coaching lineup driving the club’s path to success.
