The launch was graced by esteemed figures from the football world, including FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim, FUFA Executive Committee members, and top officials from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League. FIFA’s delegation, led by Solomon Mudege, Head of FIFA Development Programmes-Africa, also attended the event.

The FIFA Club Professionalisation and Management Programme is designed to equip clubs with essential knowledge and tools to improve their governance, business operations, and sporting performance.

Through a series of workshops and training sessions, club administrators will learn about strategic planning, financial management, brand building, and player development.

Solomon Mudege emphasized FIFA’s dedication to fostering the growth of African football.

“This programme is a core activity of FIFA to build capacity in clubs and Leagues so that there is holistic growth of the game in the long run,” he stated.

A highlight of the programme is the opportunity for clubs to showcase their strategic plans.

FIFA will select the best-performing clubs to participate in further development programs and potentially attend the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA.

The first day of the workshop delved into strategic planning and governance. Participants, including chairmen and CEOs of StarTimes Uganda Premier League clubs, were guided through the process of formulating effective strategic plans and establishing robust organizational structures.

The second and final day of the workshop will focus on financial, brand, and marketing strategies.
