France striker Hugo Ekitike has been reportedly ruled out of the World Cup after rupturing his Achilles during Liverpool’s Champions League defeat to Paris St Germain.
The 23-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt last July, was stretchered off at Anfield on Tuesday.
He has scored 17 goals this season, but his injury leaves France without one of their key attacking options ahead of the tournament in the US, Mexico and Canada.
