Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Joseph Put has announced the squad for the decisive Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Congo Brazzaville.
Among the fresh inclusions is KCCA’s on-form goalkeeper Mutwalib Mugoloofa, whose impressive performance, six clean sheets in seven games, has propelled his team to the top of the league.
Another notable call-up is Villa’s Hakim Kiwanuka, whose three goals in seven matches have earned him his first national team appearance.
Also joining the squad is Uganda Hippos forward John Paul Dembe, currently with Hackens in Sweden, after a standout performance in the U20 AFCON qualifiers where he finished as top scorer with six goals.
Former Vipers and KCCA defender Geoffrey Wasswa, now with Ethiopian Coffee, has been invited, while defender Timothy Awany makes his return after missing the September match against South Africa.
With Uganda leading Group K on 10 points, just one more point in their remaining two matches will secure a place in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
