Following a high-energy weekend in Jinja, the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series, presented by Red Rhino Sports, now heads to Gulu City.
This exciting stop marks the fourth circuit in a national journey aimed at discovering Uganda’s top 3×3 basketball talent.
Northern Uganda, a region brimming with untapped basketball potential, is set to show what it has to offer as teams and fans gather for a weekend packed with skill, competition, and community spirit.
With each circuit growing in popularity and competition, Gulu City’s participation is anticipated to elevate the series to new heights.
The event will serve as a platform for both established teams and emerging players, providing exposure and an opportunity to compete for a spot in the highly anticipated National Finals set for December.
So far, the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series has crowned several teams across Uganda. Team Grim Reapers and Team Clan(Men), along with Team 3-Peat (Ladies), qualified from the first circuit in Kampala.
Team Ntare PickUp (Men) and Mbarara University Hoopers (Ladies) emerged from Mbarara, while Team VBL (Men) and Team Assassins (Ladies) secured their spots during the Jinja circuit.
Gulu will be the next city to send its best representatives to the final showdown in Kampala.
The Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series features seven qualifying circuits, each leading up to the final 8th event in Kampala.
Twelve men’s teams and eight women’s teams will eventually battle for the grand prize of UGX 2 million per category.
Each qualifying stop rewards winning teams with UGX 400,000, while runners-up receive UGX 200,000. Individual excellence is also recognized, with UGX 100,000 awarded to the MVP, Top Scorer, and Best Rebounder at each event.
The excitement goes beyond the court, as fans attending the Gulu circuit will also have opportunities to win fantastic prizes from Mountain Dew, including headphones, bags, and books.
This fan engagement initiative aims to create a memorable experience, making the Mountain Dew UG 3×3 Series a community event as much as a sporting competition.
After Gulu, the series will continue its nationwide tour with remaining circuits leading up to the finale in Kampala.
As the final approaches, the competition is heating up, and teams are sharpening their strategies to secure their places in the finals.
