Uganda’s She Cranes have set a new record at the Fast5 World Netball Series, claiming a third-place finish after a resilient 46-42 victory over South Africa in the playoff final.
This achievement marks Uganda’s best performance at the series, improving on their fifth-place debut in 2022.
The She Cranes started strong, leading South Africa 15-9 in the first quarter and extending their advantage to 21-16 by halftime.
The third quarter saw Uganda further build momentum, leading 37-28. Despite South Africa’s push in the final stages, Uganda held firm, sealing the win.
Key players Mary Nuba Cholhok and Falidah Kadondi once again delivered standout performances, with Kadondi earning her second Player of the Match award in the tournament.
Head coach Nelson Bogere praised the team’s growth, highlighting their determination and strategic play against a familiar rival.
