The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, has extended her support to the Uganda Cranes by providing UGX 50 million ahead of their highly anticipated Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa.
Among, who attended the team’s final training session at Namboole Stadium, described the financial boost as a morale booster and expressed her confidence in the team’s performance.
Following her meeting with the Cranes, Among took to social media, sharing her optimism.
“This afternoon, I had the privilege of watching the Uganda Cranes during their final training session at Namboole ahead of tomorrow’s game against South Africa. Based on what I observed, I am confident that our boys will make us proud, as they always do,” she tweeted.
She further conveyed the well-wishes of President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni, adding a call for nationwide support.
“Let’s keep the team in our prayers. See you all tomorrow at Namboole!” she concluded.
The Cranes, who have already secured qualification for the 2025 AFCON following South Sudan’s win over Congo, are now set to compete with South Africa to top Group K.
