CAF and FUFA Join Forces to Enhance Stadium Safety in Uganda

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) are set to elevate stadium safety standards in Uganda with a three-day Safe Stadium Initiative Training Programme.

The event, scheduled to take place at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, from November 19th to 21st, aims to standardize safety and security operations across all CAF member associations.

The training program will be conducted by experienced CAF and FIFA instructors, including Dr. Christian Emeruwa (CAF Head of Safety and Security), Ababacar Sene (CAF Security Department), Khakame Alan Chikanimr (CAF Safety and Security Instructor), and Katherina Steinberg (FIFA Safety and Security Event Operations).

Participants, including representatives from FUFA member clubs, local security agencies, and stadium management teams, will engage in hands-on training sessions and simulations.

These activities will cover a range of topics, including risk assessment and mitigation, emergency response planning, crowd control and management, access control and security screening, and evacuation procedures.

By the end of the training, participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to implement best practices in stadium safety and security.

This initiative underscores the commitment of CAF and FUFA to prioritize fan safety and security, ensuring that Ugandan football matches are conducted in a safe and enjoyable environment.
