‘I Couldn’t Leave Now’ – Pep Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has committed his future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2026.

The Catalan tactician, who has revolutionized English football since arriving in 2016, cited a strong connection to the club and unfinished business as the primary reasons for his decision.

“I felt I couldn’t leave now, simple as that,” Guardiola explained.

Under Guardiola’s stewardship, City has clinched numerous domestic and European trophies, including six Premier League titles and a historic Champions League triumph in 2023.

Despite these achievements, the 53-year-old remains driven to achieve more.

“The club is so stable, the players are of exceptional quality, and I still enjoy the challenge,” Guardiola said. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but there’s still more to be done.”

Guardiola’s extension ensures continuity at a club that has become a dominant force in world football.

His tactical brilliance, coupled with City’s financial might, has made them a formidable opponent for any team.
