Arua Hill staged a dramatic 2-1 comeback to edge Paidha Black Angels at the Pece Stadium in Gulu during Match Day 8 of the FUFA Big League on Sunday.
The result handed the visitors their first loss of the season while ending Arua Hill’s three-match losing streak.
Jamal Sulaiman gave Paidha Black Angels the lead with a well-timed header in the 58th minute.
However, the home side roared back, with Dickens Kilama restoring parity in the 65th minute before Paul Ssekulima sealed the win 10 minutes later.
Arua Hill’s comeback moves them to 7 points, though they remain in the drop zone, sitting 12th on the table.
Paidha Black Angels, who had been unbeaten until yesterday, now hold onto 6th place with 10 points.
Elsewhere, Blacks Power climbed to the top of the standings with a 2-1 win over promotion rivals Calvary at the Akii Bua Memorial Stadium in Lira.
Goals from Haron Odongo and Innocent Maduka ensured the home side bagged their fifth win in seven matches.
Blacks Power now lead with 16 points, one ahead of second-placed Booma, and a couple of points ahead of Calvary and Gaddafi, who now sit third and fourth respectively.
Gaddafi registered a hard-fought 2-1 victory over MYDA at the Works Playground in Entebbe, in a match where the latter took an early lead through Moses Ocoman in the 9th minute.
However, Gaddafi’s Yasin Mugume equalised before Congolese striker Jonathan Mbula netted the winner before halftime.
The loss leaves MYDA bottom of the table, with just two points registered after seven games played.
Meanwhile, Kataka secured a narrow 1-0 win over Kiyinda Boys at the Mbale Municipal Stadium, and Busoga United and Buhimba United Saints played out a goalless draw at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Jinja.
Next up, Arua Hill will host Buhimba United Saints, while Paidha Black Angels welcome Kataka FC to the Bar Okoro Stadium on December 1.
