Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has dismissed any possibility of selling in-form striker Christopher Nkunku during the upcoming January transfer window.
Despite a promising start to the season, Nkunku has seen limited Premier League action, with just one start to his name.
However, the French forward has been a key figure in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup campaigns, netting ten goals across all competitions.
Recent reports suggested that Nkunku might seek a move away from Stamford Bridge in January due to his lack of Premier League opportunities.
However, Maresca has categorically denied these rumors, stating, “Absolutely, yes. We have so many games. I completely want Christo to stay with us; I don’t have any idea to let him leave in January.”
The Italian manager added, “I spoke to Christo days ago and he did not say he was unhappy. For sure, he would like to play minutes but [that is] like many players.”
While Nkunku is expected to feature prominently in Chelsea’s upcoming Conference League clash against Heidenheim, several high-profile players, including Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, Noni Madueke, Levi Colwill, and Malo Gusto, have been omitted from the squad to avoid overloading.
Despite the speculation linking him with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, or Borussia Dortmund, Nkunku has publicly dismissed these rumors, insisting that no formal offers have been made.
