Manchester United Fans in Iganga Hold Prayers for New Coach Rúben Amorim

Fans of Manchester United in Uganda’s Iganga district gathered on Sunday, November 24, under the Iganga Manchester United Fans initiative, to pray for the success of their newly appointed head coach, Rúben Amorim.

The event, held ahead of Amorim’s first Premier League game against Ipswich Town, saw supporters come together in faith, seeking divine blessings for the Portuguese tactician and the team’s journey under his leadership.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw, marking the beginning of Amorim’s tenure. This was his first match at the helm following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal earlier in the season.

Amorim went on to secure his first win in a 3-2 Europa League clash against Bodo/Glimt on Thursday night.

The Iganga gathering wasn’t the first time fans united in prayer for the club. Ahead of the season’s start, they held similar prayers, dedicating the team to God and seeking a successful campaign.

The fans emphasized that faith and support for the club go hand-in-hand, showing their unwavering commitment through unique initiatives like these.

Amorim, a highly rated coach from Sporting CP, faces the challenge of reviving Manchester United’s fortunes after a rocky start to the season.

United will face Everton next in the Premier League on Sunday at 4:30 PM.
