Reflecting on his achievement, Lwanga stated: “It’s the performance that brought me here, and it’s the performance that will bring me back,” he was quoted by Voice of Bugerere.

He further added: “The difference this season is that I’ve learned to understand what I want, and I know it’s my performance that will draw people’s attention toward me. My target this season is 15 goals.”

The former KCCA player had a remarkable November, netting six goals in four matches.

His impressive tally included a quadruple in SC Villa’s 5-0 rout of UPDF and a brace in their 6-1 victory over Wakiso Giants.

Other Award Winners

In addition to Lwanga’s triumph in football, other categories also recognized standout performances:

Rugby

Lydia Namabiro emerged victorious in the rugby category after a stellar performance at the Africa Women’s 7s in Accra, Ghana.

She was the top scorer for the Lady Rugby Cranes, crossing the line for 11 tries.

Namabiro played a pivotal role as the Lady Cranes secured a bronze medal and qualified for the 2025 Challenger Series, set for January.

She edged out stiff competition from her teammates, team captain Peace Lekuru and winger Grace Auma.

Rally

In the rally category, Jas Mangat took home the accolade after an impressive season.

Mangat, leader of the Piri Piri team, won the Hoima Kabalega Rally, the final event of the National Rally Championship (NRC) calendar.

His victory in the rally helped him secure his fourth NRC title, beating competitors Ronald Ssebuguzi and Moustapha Mukasa for the award.

Cricket

The cricket category went to Henry Ssenyondo, who outperformed his teammates Riazat Ali Shah and Dinesh Nakrani.

While all three were instrumental in the Cricket Cranes’ success at the ICC Challenge League B, Ssenyondo stood out by taking an impressive 11 wickets during the tournament.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran sports journalist Hajji Hassan Badru Zziwa received the Lifetime Achievers Award in recognition of his immense contribution to sports journalism in Uganda.

Looking Ahead

It’s also worth noting that the Chief Executive Officer of Real Stars Sports Agency, Isaac Mukasa, has announced his intention to vie for a parliamentary seat in Buikwe in 2026.
