Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho has returned to the Young Africans (Yanga) squad as they prepare for a crucial CAF Champions League Group A match against MC Alger in Algeria on December 7.
Aucho, who missed Yanga’s group-stage opener against Al Hilal—a game that ended in a disappointing 2-0 loss for the Tanzanian champions—is expected to anchor the midfield, providing much-needed stability and leadership.
His experience and composure on the ball have been pivotal in Yanga’s domestic and continental campaigns.
The team’s head coach, Saed Ramovic, expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to bounce back.
Yanga’s traveling squad also includes key players such as Prince Dube, Clement Mzize, and Clatous Chama, as they look to secure their first points of the group stage.
The game is scheduled for 10:00 PM East Africa Time at the Ali La Pointe Stadium in Douera.
With Yanga eager to get off the mark on the Champions League, they will be relying on Aucho’s return to inspire a turnaround as they seek a vital win against a tough MC Alger side.
