Uganda Cranes striker Steven Mukwala is poised to play a key role for Simba SC in their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup Group A clash against CS Constantine in Algeria on December 8.
Mukwala played 75 minutes in Simba’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bravos Do Maquis in their group opener. He had previously struggled for playing time in the team this season often coming on as a substitute.
He is often praised for his pace and work rate that make him a constant threat to opposition defenses.
The team departed for Algeria earlier this week via Turkey, with an advance party already in place to finalize preparations.
Simba currently shares the top spot in Group A with CS Constantine, both teams having collected three points from their opening games.
Simba’s technical bench has focused on refining tactics and improving coordination ahead of the match, set to take place at the Stade Mohamed-Hamlaoui in Algiers.
A win would strengthen Simba’s position in the group and boost their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
