Having scored 11 tries to guide the Lady Rugby Cranes to bronze at the Africa women’s sevens last month in Accra, forward Lydia Namabiro says focus is on continued success.

Namabiro made the remarks while receiving the November Fortebet Real Stars award for her outstanding performance at the continental showpiece.

She saw off competition from captain Peace Lekuru and Grace Auma to win the accolade as the Charles Onen coached side now sets sights on a first-ever HSBC SVNS Series appearance.

“We qualified for the Challenger Series because of hard work. As a player, I have not yet reached the levels I’m targeting so I aim to improve on my performance.”

The Lady Rugby Cranes will need to finish among the top four teams to qualify for the HSBC SVNS promotion and relegation play off tournament set for next year.
