In an action packed climax to Season 4 of the Guinness-sponsored NGO League, Los Bandidos, the Class of 2005, emerged victorious, claiming the championship title with a nail-biting one-point margin.
The prestigious alumni league, which brings together former students of Namilyango College, witnessed fierce competition throughout the season, culminating in an exhilarating finale at the Kampala Parents Sports Complex on Sunday.
Los Bandidos, demonstrating unwavering determination and exceptional teamwork, amassed 45 points, narrowly surpassing Ba Musaayi Muto (Class of 1999) who finished in second place with 44 points.
“This season was all about resilience and discipline,” stated Tom Agaba of Los Bandidos, reflecting on their triumphant journey. “We’ve dedicated countless hours of hard work and rigorous training, and today, we reap the rewards.”
The league showcased individual brilliance as well. Ivan Otai from the Barbarians emerged as the top scorer with an impressive 12 goals.
Muliiko Cranmer of the Spartans was awarded the Best Goalkeeper for an astonishing 15 clean sheets. Furthermore, Fred Sekweyama of Los Bandidos demonstrated exceptional playmaking skills, leading the league in assists and significantly contributing to his team’s success.
Patience Aguti, Project Manager at UBL, a key sponsor of the league, commended the players and organizers for their dedication.
