A Match with a Mission

The charity football game featured the Benda Foundation Team and the HIV Positive Football Team, showcasing the power of sport to bring people together.

It emphasized the importance of solidarity in combating the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and offered a platform to promote compassion and understanding.

“By supporting this event, we hope to contribute to the national effort to combat HIV/AIDS and improve the lives of those affected by the virus,” remarked Collins Bongomin, Head of Marketing at 22bet.

Impact Beyond the Field

The event wasn’t just about the game; it served as a platform to share life-changing messages.

Ykee Benda, founder of the Benda Foundation and renowned Ugandan artist, urged youth to lead healthy lives, whether HIV-positive or negative.

He stressed abstinence, safe practices, and adherence to medication as vital steps in managing and preventing HIV.

Wright Freedom, founder of the HIV Positive Football Club, shared his motivation to fight stigma and inspire others to live healthy, fulfilled lives despite their status.

Support and Awareness

The THX22 Foundation provided critical financial support for HIV treatment programs, reinforcing their commitment to improving lives and spreading awareness.

The collaboration with the Benda Foundation highlighted the shared goal of reducing stigma and fostering inclusivity for individuals living with HIV.

Key Messages from the Event

Test Regularly: Knowing your HIV status is the first step to taking control.

Safe Practices: Abstain, use condoms, or stay faithful to one partner to prevent infection.

Empathy and Support: Families and friends of people living with HIV are urged to encourage treatment adherence and avoid stigma.

A Unified Vision

This partnership between THX22 Foundation, Benda Foundation, and the HIV Positive Football Team exemplifies a collective commitment to creating a stigma-free society.

By raising awareness and providing tangible support, they are working towards a brighter, healthier future for all.

The event serves as a reminder that unity, awareness, and compassion are key to combating HIV/AIDS and breaking down the barriers faced by those affected.

Together, we can achieve a world free from stigma and discrimination.
