Following a successful pilot in the Kampala Region, FUFA is organizing a Grade 4 Scouting Course in the Western Region, aiming to equip one qualified scout in every district.
Forty aspiring scouts from 17 districts within the Western Region have been selected to participate in the two-day course, commencing on December 12th in Mbarara City.
The training will be conducted by Petros Koukouras from the FUFA Football Development Department, focusing on essential scouting techniques and the use of the FUFA Talent ID platform to profile and report on promising young players.
FUFA President Hon. Moses Magogo has emphasized the importance of having qualified scouts in every corner of the country, mirroring the emphasis placed on qualified referees.
FUFA say that this initiative aims to ensure that no talent goes unnoticed and that every aspiring young footballer has an opportunity to shine.
The Western Region Scouting Course is part of FUFA’s broader commitment to developing a robust and sustainable talent identification system.
By empowering local communities with skilled scouts, FUFA aims to unearth hidden gems and nurture the next generation of football stars in Uganda.
