Ugandan international Calvin Kabuye has signed with Swedish club Mjällby AIF, securing a contract that will keep him at the club through the 2029 season.
The 21-year-old forward joins Mjällby from Sandvikens IF, where he impressed in the 2024 Superettan season.
Kabuye, who made his first start for the Ugandan national team in November against Congo Brazzaville, played 30 competitive matches for Sandvikens IF, tallying ten goals and one assist.
His performance not only showcased his attacking prowess but also cemented his reputation as a rising talent in football.
Mjällby AIF completed the transfer by buying out Kabuye’s contract with Sandvikens IF. The club’s sports director, Hasse Larsson, expressed high hopes for the player’s future.
“Calvin is a player we strongly believe in. He runs a lot, is very skilled in 1v1 situations, and has interesting speed. With his drive, he can take the next step in the yellow and black suit, where he can be used both as a wingback and in central offensive positions. We warmly welcome Calvin to Mjällby AIF,” said Larsson.
The move marks a significant step in Kabuye’s career as he looks to establish himself in Sweden’s Allsvenskan league while continuing to contribute to Uganda’s national team ambitions.
