For the first time in Ugandan women’s football history, monthly performance awards have been introduced, courtesy of Finance Trust Bank.
At a ceremony held at the bank’s Kampala offices, St. Noah’s head coach Jimmy Kintu and She Geme’s forward Shivan Ashaba were crowned November’s Coach and Player of the Month, respectively.
Kintu’s team had an impressive unbeaten streak, winning all five matches in November.
Upon receiving the award, Kintu praised his players.
“This recognition is a motivator for both coaches and players,” he noted.
“The team’s discipline and hard work are crucial as we strive for promotion to the Super League,” he remarked.
Ashaba, who netted five goals in five matches, was acknowledged as November’s top scorer in the Elite League.
Both winners were awarded UGX 250,000 and a plaque from Finance Trust Bank, marking a new milestone in promoting women’s football in Uganda.
