She Cranes center Margret Bagaala is proving she’s a key player in Uganda’s netball circle after being named Netballer of the Month at the Fortebet Real Stars Awards in Kololo.
This recognition follows her standout performance at the Africa Netball Cup in Namibia last December, where she controlled the court with precision and dominance.
Bagaala expressed excitement after receiving her accolade.
“Being recognized motivates me to keep working hard.” she told NBS Sport
“I’ve mastered my role as center, and every time I register a stellar performance, I look forward to the next game.”
Bagaala also highlighted her goal to maintain top form.
“Winning individual awards like Player of the Match at tournaments such as the World Cup, Africa Cup, and Fast Five is something to celebrate.”
“Heading into the Vitality Nations Cup, I’m keeping the same mentality, I’m confident more accolades will come.”
With preparations underway for the Vitality Nations Cup in Nottingham, England, starting February 19, Bagaala emphasized the She Cranes’ focus on teamwork and execution.
“As a team, we’ve shown we’re one of Uganda’s best sports teams.”
“Each tournament is an opportunity to shoot higher, and we hope the Vitality Nations Cup gives us more exposure.”
In a tough contest, Bagaala edged out her teammates Mary Nuba and Gloria Aya to claim the award, cementing her position as one of Uganda’s netball stars.
