Ugandan cricketers Juma Miyagi and Siraje Nsubuga have been named in the Silver Category for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 draft.
The draft, scheduled for Monday January 13 in Lahore, features players from 21 countries, offering a platform for emerging and established cricketers to showcase their talent in one of the world’s most competitive T20 leagues.
Juma Miyagi, a 21-year-old right-arm medium-fast bowler, is known for his disciplined bowling and ability to contain opposition batsmen.
Born on April 5, 2003, Miyagi plays as a specialist bowler and is seen as one of Uganda’s most promising cricketing talents.
Meanwhile, Siraje Nsubuga, nicknamed “Starboy,” is a 24-year-old allrounder born on December 4, 2000. A right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler, Nsubuga brings versatility to the table, making him a valuable asset for any T20 team.
The Silver Category, the lowest tier in the PSL draft, is packed with talent from around the world. Australia leads the contingent with several players, followed closely by the West Indies.
Notable names like Matthew Kuhnemann, Max O’Dowd, Shamarh Brooks, Richard Ngarava, and Mitchell Owen provide the six PSL franchises with a range of reliable and experienced options.
If selected, Miyagi and Nsubuga will have the opportunity to compete alongside some of cricket’s biggest stars, gaining invaluable experience and exposure.
This milestone also represents a step forward for Ugandan cricket, further cementing the nation’s growing reputation in the international cricket community.
