The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled a new trophy and logo for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) ahead of tonight’s draw for the tournament.
The draw will take place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, starting at 8:00 PM local time, and will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
The new trophy reflects a modern design, combining gold and silver elements to symbolise the growing status of the competition.
Encircling the trophy are 54 lines, representing each African nation, with a map of the continent at its core—a tribute to the diversity and unity of African football.
The new logo features the new trophy, CAF and TotalEnergies logos, together with the official name of the 2024 CHAN tournament.
The new trophy and logo come ahead of the eighth edition of CHAN, which will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania in August 2025.
This marks the tournament’s return to East Africa for the first time since Rwanda hosted in 2016.
Yesterday, CAF confirmed that the 2024 CHAN tournament, which was scheduled to take place in February, will instead be held in August.
The tournament exclusively features home-based players, offering a unique platform to showcase local talent on a continental stage.
