Mbale Heroes Football Club has announced the appointment of Baker Mbowa as their new head coach, just a day after parting ways with Asaph Mwebaze.
In a statement released by the club on Thursday evening, management expressed confidence in Mbowa’s ability to lead the team to new heights, citing his extensive experience in the Uganda Premier League and his passion for developing young talent.
Baker Mbowa has been around the Uganda Premier League for some time having stints at Bright Stars, URA and most recently Express.
The club emphasized that Mbowa’s vision aligns seamlessly with its mission of becoming the most successful community football club in Africa, both on and off the pitch.
“Coach Mbowa comes in with a wealth of experience in the Premier League, bringing a deep passion for nurturing young talent, which aligns perfectly with the club’s vision and mission,” the statement read.
The new head coach is expected to rejuvenate the team’s fortunes after a challenging season so far, which has seen Mbale Heroes win just two of 15 Uganda Premier League matches with the club currently languishing at the bottom of the table.
Mbowa’s immediate task will be to prepare the team for their Uganda Cup Round of 64 fixture against Simba FC this Sunday in Gayaza.
The club has assured fans that preparations for the crucial match are in full swing.
