Big League: Gaddafi Seize Top Spot as First Round Nears Completion

Gaddafi climbed to the top of the FUFA Big League standings after a goalless stalemate with Kataka at the Works playground in Entebbe on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

The point pushed Gaddafi to 30 points, one ahead of Blacks Power, who face Busoga United in a crucial fixture today in Jinja.

Kataka’s draw moved them to 20 points, rounding off their first-round campaign.

Elsewhere, Kiyinda Boys secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Buhimba United Saints at Kigaaya Primary School playground in Kikuube district.

Ntugasaze also triumphed with a thrilling 3-2 win over Kaaro Karungi at the Mityana Ssaza Ground, while Arua Hill displayed their dominance with a 2-0 victory against Booma at the Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu.

Gerald Kirya and Dickens Kilama were on target for Arua Hill, keeping their promotion hopes alive.

MYDA and Kigezi Home Boyz shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Kongunga Primary School in Bukedea.

Meanwhile, the West Nile derby between Paidha Black Angels and Calvary at Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo also ended in a goalless draw.

The draw left Paidha Black Angels in 6th place with 20 points from 14 matches, while Calvary remained 3rd with 25 points, firmly in the promotion race.

Paidha will next host Onduparaka at Bar Okoro, while Calvary welcomes Buhimba United Saints at Midigo Ground.
