The second edition of the MTN Busoga Masaza Cycling Championship has seen a surge of excitement across the region as preliminary races have concluded.
Cyclists from various chiefdoms have battled it out in thrilling competitions, with the top contenders securing their spots in the grand finale scheduled for February 15th, 2025, in Jinja City.
The championship kicked off with intense qualifiers in Bulamogi Chiefdom, where Kisambira Yazid emerged victorious in the Tippa category, while Mukisa Amos claimed top honors in the Mountain Sport Bike category.
In Luuka Chiefdom, Andrew Musitwa and Mensuramu Magemeso emerged as the top cyclists in their respective categories.
Day two of the qualifiers witnessed high-octane action in Bunhole-Bunhanumba and Bukooli Chiefdoms.
Nelson Lukakamwa, a 22-year-old cyclist, showcased impressive speed and strategy in Bunhole-Bunhanumba, securing victory in the Mountain Sport Bike category. In Bukooli, the reigning Tippa champion, Tiff Luganda, demonstrated his dominance, clinching first place.
The championship has not only showcased the exceptional cycling talent within the Busoga region but has also fostered a strong sense of community and unity.
