Departing Kitara Football Club forward Denis Omedi has shared a heartfelt message on social media, expressing his gratitude to the club, teammates, and fans as he embarks on a new journey with APR FC in Rwanda.
In his farewell tweet, Omedi reflected on the unforgettable moments he experienced during his two seasons with the Royals.
“Sat here with both gratitude and a tinge of sadness, I find it hard to put to words what these past two seasons have meant to me,” Omedi wrote. “We made beautiful memories on and off the pitch. Through the highs and lows, we stood our ground. I am forever indebted to you, my beloved Kitara.”
Omedi joined Kitara in July 2023 from Booma and quickly established himself as a vital part of the team’s success.
During his tenure, he featured in 45 matches across all competitions, scoring 19 goals.
His contributions were instrumental in Kitara’s maiden Stanbic Uganda Cup victory in the 2023/24 season and their debut campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Omedi’s message has drawn an outpouring of appreciation from Kitara with supporters taking to social media to thank the striker for his dedication, while the club reiterated its well-wishes for his future.
The emotional goodbye comes just days after Kitara President Deo Kasozi and former manager Brian Ssenyondo lauded Omedi’s discipline, passion, and exemplary character.
His iconic moments, including the globally recognized Rabona goal in the FUFA Super 8 Cup, have cemented his legacy as one of the club’s most cherished players.
