Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho could be on the move this summer, with Chelsea reportedly preparing a new bid for the Argentine international.
Speculation surrounding Garnacho’s future intensified on Monday evening when it was revealed that his agents, Carlos Cambeiro and Quique de Lucas, were in attendance at Stamford Bridge to watch Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Chelsea have long been admirers of Garnacho and are believed to be exploring a move for the young winger, who has fallen out of favor under new Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim.
However, they face stiff competition from Serie A giants Napoli, who are seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia following his recent transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea are expected to make a fresh approach for Garnacho, with a potential transfer fee estimated to be around £65 million. Napoli are also expected to submit a new bid imminently.
Fabrizio Romano has added that Chelsea initiated inquiries for Garnacho back in December, with a potential swap deal briefly discussed.
However, no concrete developments have emerged on that front.
While Manchester United are not actively seeking to sell Garnacho, they are now open to listening to offers for any player, recognizing the potential for significant profit given that they acquired him from Atletico Madrid for a relatively modest fee of £420,000 in 2020.
