Chelsea is reportedly preparing a £60 million bid for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Despite Chelsea’s already robust lineup of wide players, including the likes of Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho, the Blues are considering Garnacho to bolster their attacking options.
This comes after Mykhailo Mudryk’s provisional ban by the Football Association for failing a doping test in December.
While Chelsea has multiple wide options, the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix has prompted the club to look for reinforcements.
Garnacho, the Argentine international, is seen as a potential fit.
Reports suggest that Manchester United is looking to free up funds through player sales, which would allow them to re-enter the transfer market and comply with Profit & Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Garnacho’s potential move to Chelsea could be part of this strategy.
Addressing the rumors, Enzo Maresca stated, “I’m happy with what we have at this moment. I said many times, on the right side it’s Pedro [Neto] and Noni [Madueke], left side Jadon [Sancho] and Misha [Mudryk] was with us, now he’s not with us. Tyrique [George] is the profile that can help us. In this moment we are okay.”
With the winter transfer window still open, there is ample time for deals to materialize. The possibility of Garnacho moving to Stamford Bridge adds intrigue to the closing days of the transfer period.
