CAF Unveils Official Logo for AFCON 2025

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025, unveiled the official logo for the competition on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco.

The new logo, described as a “modern and iconic symbol for African football,” celebrates the continent’s rich heritage and unity.

It will serve as the visual identity for the tournament finals, which will be held between December 21, 2025, and January 18, 2026.

Inspired by Moroccan “zellij,” a traditional form of mosaic art, the logo represents the beautiful fusion of sport and art.

The intricate patterns and shapes symbolize the interconnectedness of nations, players, and fans, reflecting how football and art come together to create something truly special.

Just as individual pieces of zellij are meticulously crafted and assembled to form stunning designs, every moment in a football match contributes to a masterpiece of skill, teamwork, and triumph.

The logo’s color scheme is rich in symbolism:

  • Gold: Represents achievement
  • Green: Represents unity
  • Red: Represents resilience
  • Blue: Represents boundless potential

These colors go beyond mere aesthetics and embody the true spirit of African football, capturing the energy of the game, the strength of the players, and the unwavering passion of the fans.

By merging the geometric form of a football with the intricate artistry of zellij, the logo pays homage to Africa’s cultural legacy while capturing the precision and movement inherent in the beautiful game.
