The 6th edition of the Elite Secondary Schools Games is set to take place from February 14-16, 2025, bringing together the best school teams in Uganda.
The competition, which features the top eight finishers from last year’s national championships, marks the first event on the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) calendar for 2025.
A preparatory meeting for all participating schools will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the USSSA National Offices at GNS Plaza, where the official draws will also take place.
The boys’ football category promises intense battles, with reigning National Champions St. Julian H.S Seeta, FEASSA Champions Amus College, and Elite Schools defending champions Jinja Progressive School (JIPRA) all set to compete.
Other football powerhouses in the tournament include St. Mary’s Kitende, Bukedea Comprehensive, Kisozi Seed S.S, and St. Joseph Nazareth Kavule.
Top Contenders Across Other Sports
Beyond football, several other disciplines will showcase Uganda’s best school teams:
Basketball Boys: Hope Secondary School Bbira, Buddo Secondary, Amus College, Seroma Christian, St. Maria Goretti Katende, St. Josephs Nazareth Kavule, and St. Lawrence Crown City.
Netball: Buddo Secondary, Greenlight Islamic S.S, Baptist High, St. Josephs Nazareth Kavule, Bukedea Comprehensive, Gombe Secondary, and Ngando Secondary.
Football Girls: Kawempe Muslim, St. Noa Girls, Amus College, Uganda Martyrs Lubaga, Boni Consili, Sheema Girls, and Sacred Heart Gulu.
Volleyball Boys: Bukedea Comprehensive, Ngora High, St. Maria Goretti Katende, St. Augustine Minor Seminary, St. Henry’s College Kitovu, Standard High Zana, and Kinaawa High Kawempe.
With top schools set to compete, the tournament promises high-stakes action as teams battle for early-season supremacy in their respective sports.
