Muhoozi to KCCA Fans: “We Learn From This and Move Forward”

KCCA FC CEO Anisha Muhoozi has spoken directly to the club’s fans following the FUFA Appeals Committee’s decision to uphold the forfeiture of their Uganda Premier League (UPL) match against Mbarara City FC.

While expressing deep frustration with the ruling, she reassured supporters that the club is taking valuable lessons from the situation and will use them to make better decisions moving forward.

“I know that a number of fans are disappointed, and some are saying that we as the administration should’ve done better,” Muhoozi acknowledged. “But in every situation, we learn. So we are taking lessons from this, and we are going to use them for better decision-making.”

The ruling, which cost KCCA FC three crucial points, came after FUFA ruled that the club had fielded an ineligible player, Gavin Kizito.

KCCA argued that they had received confirmation from the UPL secretariat that Kizito was eligible to play, but FUFA maintained that only its Competitions Department had the final say on such matters.

Despite her frustration with the decision, Muhoozi urged fans to stay patient and trust the club’s leadership.

“We understand the disappointment, especially because this affects our title chase. But we remain focused on the future and on making the best decisions for KCCA FC,” she said.

The loss of points has seen KCCA drop from third to fourth place in the UPL standings, leaving them 10 points behind league leaders Vipers SC.

While Muhoozi admitted this was a setback, she emphasized that the club remains determined to fight for results in the second round of the season.

“The board is yet to guide on the way forward, but for now, the ruling has already been made, and it’s absurd,” she stated.

KCCA FC now turns its attention to the second half of the league campaign, with a crucial fixture against NEC FC on February 13 at MTN Omondi Stadium before hosting league leaders Vipers SC on February 16.
