West Ham United are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund at the end of the season, according to TEAMtalk.

The Danish international, who has struggled to find his footing at Old Trafford since his arrival, could be available for a transfer, with Manchester United potentially looking to offload the £40 million-rated forward.

Hojlund’s time at Manchester United has been underwhelming, failing to meet the high expectations that accompanied his signing.

The club may be willing to cut their losses and recoup some of their investment, making him a potential target for other Premier League clubs.

West Ham, desperately needing attacking reinforcements, see Hojlund as a potential solution to their goal-scoring woes.

The Hammers have struggled to find consistent firepower this season. Summer signing Niclas Fullkrug has been hampered by injuries and inconsistent form, while January loan signing Evan Ferguson is expected to return to Brighton in the summer.

This leaves a significant gap in their attacking options.

A move to West Ham could provide Hojlund with the regular playing time he needs to rediscover his form.

The less pressurized environment at the London Stadium might be the ideal platform for him to showcase his talent and rebuild his confidence.

While some might view it as a step down in his career, it could be a strategic move for Hojlund, offering him the opportunity to prove himself and potentially attract interest from bigger clubs in the future.

However, several factors remain uncertain. Whether Hojlund would be willing to join West Ham remains to be seen.

The player’s ambitions and his willingness to move to a club not consistently competing for top honors will be key.

From Manchester United’s perspective, selling Hojlund might be necessary to fund their own transfer activity.

The club is reportedly aiming to bolster their squad with a reliable goalscorer and may need to offload underperforming players to make room for new arrivals.

They are unlikely to recoup the full amount they paid for him and may have to accept a reduced fee.

This could present a golden opportunity for West Ham to secure a promising striker at a reasonable price.
