Kitara have finalized their mid-season transfer business with minimal changes to its squad as they prepare for the second round of the 2024/25 StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
The club saw the departure of two players while making just one addition to their roster.
The biggest move of the window was the exit of forward Denis Omedi, who joined Rwandan giants APR after one and a half years with Kitara.
Omedi played 45 matches for the Royals, scoring 19 goals across all competitions.
Midfielder Umar Lutalo also left the club after his contract was terminated just four months into his stay.
Lutalo, who had joined Kitara as a free agent from SC Villa last September, had been absent from the club since November 2024 without formal communication. After discussions, both parties agreed to a mutual termination of his contract.
Kitara made just one addition in the transfer window, bringing in Amos Etoju from Mbale Heroes.
The towering midfielder joins on a six-month deal after making ten appearances in the first half of the season.
Etoju’s presence is expected to bolster Kitara’s midfield as they aim to strengthen their push in the second round of the campaign.
With the secondary transfer window now closed, Kitara FC will shift its focus to the league’s resumption next week, hoping to build on its performances with the squad now set for the remainder of the season.
