Wilfred Ndidi’s return from a two-month injury layoff was a bright spot for Leicester City despite their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup fourth round at Old Trafford.

The Nigerian midfielder put in a commanding performance, showcasing his importance to the Foxes before his substitution shifted the game’s momentum.

Ndidi, who captained the side, made an immediate impact, playing a key role in Leicester’s opening goal. His initial shot was blocked, but Bobby De Cordova-Reid was on hand to head home the rebound.

The 28-year-old’s presence in midfield was evident throughout his 58 minutes on the pitch. He registered 52 touches, completed 35 of his 43 passes with an impressive 81% accuracy, and won two out of two aerial duels.

His contributions weren’t limited to defense; he also managed a shot on target and made crucial clearances and interceptions.

Despite Ndidi’s strong showing and Leicester’s first-half lead, Manchester United fought back in the second half.

Goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire sealed the victory for the Red Devils, knocking Leicester out of the FA Cup.

The loss leaves Leicester City, currently struggling in 18th place in the Premier League, with a bigger challenge ahead.

The Foxes now face a daunting task as they prepare to host title contenders Arsenal at the King Power Stadium in the upcoming week. Ndidi’s return to form will be crucial if Leicester are to secure a positive result against Mikel Arteta’s side.

His leadership and midfield prowess will be vital in containing Arsenal’s attack and creating opportunities for his own team.
