NEC head coach Hussein Mbalangu is making good on his bold declaration that Lugogo is a slaughterhouse for the Diehards.
His side continues to dominate at home, remaining unbeaten in the 2024/25 season.
Lugogo has long been known as KCCA’s home ground, officially named the MTN Omondi Stadium.
However, since last season, NEC has also hosted its matches there, creating an unusual landlord-tenant dynamic between the two sides.

NEC’s Home Supremacy Over KCCA
That dynamic took a dramatic turn for KCCA on Thursday as NEC completed a league double over them, winning 1-0 in both the first and second rounds, on the same ground.
In the first leg, NEC edged KCCA 1-0, and history repeated itself when the Diehards secured another narrow victory in the return fixture.

The result further cemented NEC’s dominance at Lugogo and extended their unbeaten home run.
After the match, Mbalangu made it clear that Lugogo has a different identity depending on who is playing:
“It’s called ‘Slaughterhouse Stadium’ when NEC is playing, and when KCCA is playing, it’s MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium,” he confidently stated.
“Here at Slaughterhouse, everyone must ‘die’ regardless of who you are.”
Title Contenders?
NEC’s impressive home form has kept them in the thick of the title race.
With 36 points, they sit just one point behind league leaders Vipers after 16 games.
As they prepare for their next away game on Sunday, Mbalangu and his squad will be aiming to carry their winning mentality on the road.
