Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Executive Director Hajjati Sharifah Buzeki and Deputy Executive Director Benon Moses Kigenyi visited MTN Omondi Stadium on Friday to meet the KCCA FC Board and staff.
This marked the first official engagement between the newly appointed KCCA leadership and the club’s management, reinforcing their commitment to the team’s long-term development.
During the visit, Buzeki emphasized KCCA’s dedication to modernizing the club’s infrastructure, particularly the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium that will enhance the fan experience in terms of safety, accessibility, and overall amenities.
She also pledged to fast-track the procurement of a new team bus, acknowledging the need for improved logistics to support the team’s operations.
“We are here today to demonstrate our commitment to KCCA FC. Our vision is big. We aim to create a vibrant hub for the community, a place where fans can enjoy the beautiful game in a safe, accessible, and comfortable environment,” Buzeki stated.
KCCA FC Chairman Andrew Mukiibi Sserunjogi welcomed the visit, describing it as a strong signal of support from the city’s leadership.
“This visit is a testament to KCCA’s commitment to the growth and development of KCCA FC. We are excited to work hand-in-hand to build and complete a stadium that we can all be proud of, a place where our fans can call home,” he said.
The meeting resulted in several key action points, including improvements in staff welfare, the implementation of comprehensive player development programs, and increased community engagement to expand the club’s fan base.
KCCA FC CEO Anisha Shahir Muhoozi highlighted the importance of these initiatives, stating, “We are committed to building a sustainable future for KCCA FC. The support from KCCA is invaluable, and we are confident that by working together, we can achieve our goals both on and off the pitch.”
As the visit concluded, Buzeki encouraged Kampala residents and KCCA FC fans to support the club through merchandise purchases and game attendance.
She confirmed her presence at KCCA FC’s upcoming league match against Vipers SC on Sunday, urging fans to turn up in large numbers to rally behind the team.
The visit ended with a group photo session, symbolizing the renewed partnership between KCCA and KCCA FC.
