Who Are The Underdogs and Favorites as FUFA Drum 2025 Heats Up

As the FUFA Drum tournament progresses, the race for the coveted trophy is intensifying, with several provinces emerging as strong contenders for the title.

With defending champions Lango Province facing stiff competition from determined rivals, this year’s edition is shaping up to be one of the most unpredictable yet.

Lango Province remains the team to beat, boasting a squad stacked with talent, including Allan Okello, Denis Omedi, and Joel Sserunjoji.

Their tactical discipline and experience give them an edge, but they will need to fend off fierce competition from teams hungry for silverware.

Busoga Province, last year’s runners-up, are fueled by the pain of their narrow defeat and determined to go one step further.

Their fast-paced, attacking style makes them a dangerous opponent, and their hunger for redemption could push them to the top.

Acholi Province, champions in 2019, bring a physical and relentless approach to the competition. Their ability to adapt to different opponents and grind out results makes them a serious threat.

Similarly, West Nile, winners of the 2023 edition, are looking to reclaim their crown. Known for their unpredictability and underdog mentality, they have the potential to pull off upsets against any opponent.

Buganda Province, the inaugural FUFA Drum champions in 2018, continue to be one of the tournament’s most competitive teams.

With a solid mix of experienced and young players, Buganda has the quality to make a deep run and challenge for the trophy once again.

Tooro Province has quietly built a reputation for consistency in recent editions, thanks to their well-organized defense and effective attacking play. They are looking to break through and secure their first title.

Meanwhile, Bunyoro Province remains a dark horse, with a determined squad capable of surprising their more established rivals.

As the tournament unfolds, the title race remains wide open.

While Lango is the defending champion and a clear favorite, the fierce competition from Busoga, Acholi, West Nile, Buganda, and other rising contenders means no team can afford to take anything for granted.

With thrilling matches, unexpected twists, and high-stakes battles ahead, FUFA Drum fans can expect an electrifying climax to this year’s tournament. The question remains—who will rise above the rest and claim the prestigious title?
