Denis Omedi played a key role in APR’s dominant 4-0 victory over Musanze at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday, helping his side secure a spot in the 2025 Peace Cup quarterfinals.
The Ugandan forward, who was influential despite not getting on the scoresheet, provided an assist for Mahamadou Lamine Bah’s opening goal just four minutes into the match.
His sharp movement and precise delivery set the tone for APR’s attacking display, as the army side made light work of their opponents.
Midfielder Jean Bosco Ruboneka added to APR’s advantage in the 30th minute, converting a well-timed pass from Mamadou Sy to double the lead.
Ruboneka struck again in the 62nd minute to make it 3-0 before Sy rounded off the scoring in the 72nd minute with a powerful header.
Omedi has started life in Kigali on a good note, having scored a brace in APR’s league win over Kiyovu.
He was a constant menace to Musanze’s defense, linking up well with his teammates and creating multiple chances.
APR’s comprehensive win saw them advance with a 4-0 aggregate score after a goalless draw in the first leg.
They now join Police FC, AS Kigali, Rayon Sports, Mukura VS, Amagaju FC, and Gasogi United in the quarterfinals.
The dates for the quarterfinal draw are yet to be announced.
