The Uganda Cranes are up for a return to Egypt during the March international football window, as part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
However, this time, the Cranes will find themselves in the role of visitors, as Mozambique will host the match due to their home stadium not meeting CAF standards for FIFA-sanctioned games.
Mozambique has opted for Egypt as the neutral venue for the clash, which is set to take place on Thursday, March 20, at the Cairo International Stadium.
After this away fixture, the Cranes will head back to Uganda for the return leg, where they will host Mozambique at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole on Tuesday, March 25.
This marks a significant moment in the Cranes’ World Cup journey, with their last encounter in Egypt coming during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
That match, played at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, saw Uganda fall 1-0 to Tanzania, courtesy of a lone goal from Simon Msuva.
