Proceeds from the event will go towards purchasing baby humid cribs and maama kits for Health Center IVs in Jinja City.

According to Mr. Balyejusa Nelson, the event organizer, the marathon is expected to become an annual tradition aimed at fostering a healthier and wealthier Kyabazinga land.

This first-of-its-kind event is seen as a catalyst for change in improving the lives of people in Busoga.

Jinja City Speaker, Hon. Bernard Mbayo, has pledged his support by personally participating in the marathon. He has also encouraged the people of Jinja and the entire Busoga region to take part in this noble cause.

The marathon will feature four race categories:

  • 2 km
  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • 21 km

Additionally, the Second Deputy Prime Minister of Busoga Kingdom, Alhajji Ahmed Osman, has called on all Ugandans and well-wishers of Busoga to support humanitarian activities in the region, ensuring a healthier future for the people of Kyabazinga.

Beyond health benefits, the marathon is also seen as an opportunity to stimulate economic growth for the people of Busoga.
