The Eid Day Cup 2025 has secured another major supporter, with the Arab African Group for Investment, Trade, and Tourism officially joining the sponsorship lineup for this dynamic football and cultural festival.
Set to take place at KCCA Grounds on Eid Day, the tournament’s second edition promises an exciting blend of football, faith, and unity under the theme: “Unity, Faith, and Excellence.”
Entry to the event is free, and matches will run from 11 AM to 9 PM, bringing together teams from different sectors of society.
The Alzain Shield Match will headline the tournament, featuring the Diplomats facing off against the Winner of the 2024 edition.

- Sheikhs & Imams vs Digital Media
- Hajjs vs Cooperates
- Winner 2024 vs Finalist
The event will be graced by prominent figures, including HE. Amb. Abdallah Alshamisi (UAE), HE. Amb. Ahmed Jarda (Sudan), Haj. Umar Mandella (City Oil), Haj. Hamis Kiggundu (Ham Enterprises), Haj. Karim Kaliisa (Salaam TV), Haj. Rashid Ssenyonga (Prestige Margarine), Haj. Faizal Bukenya (PayUganda), Haj. Mohammad Kaliisa (Salaam Charity), Haj. Kin Kaliisa (Next Media), Imam Mohamad AbdulWeli, and Imam Ahmed Kyeyune.
The Guest of Honor will be Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), adding a high-profile presence to the celebrations.
Speaking during the event launch, Ambassador Ssemuddu highlighted the tournament’s deeper purpose:
“The aim of this tournament is to unite youth and elders while creating opportunities for young people to build connections with elders.”
The tournament will also include prayer sessions for Zuhr, Asr, and Maghrib, ensuring that the event maintains its spiritual essence alongside the sporting excitement.
The Arab African Group’s sponsorship was officially announced on March 24, 2025, with Al Hajji Yasin Musa Alzain, Chairman and CEO of the company, emphasizing the significance of this partnership.
“This championship is more than just football; it’s a celebration of our faith, our culture, and our collective excellence,” he stated.
Winners of the tournament will take home UGX 3 million, while the second and third-place teams will receive UGX 2 million and UGX 1 million, respectively. The event will conclude with a special snack dinner, offering a variety of eats and drinks for players and guests.
The Eid Day Cup 2025 is organized by Salaam TV and will be broadcast live on NBS Sport.
