Uganda Rugby Union (URU) President Godwin Kayangwe was elected as the new First Vice-president Administration of the National Olympic Committee of Uganda.
Kayangwe garnered twenty-three votes, beating Dunstan Nsubuga (9) and Dominic Otucuet (3) in a landslide victory.
The election was held on Saturday afternoon during the National Olympic Committee of Uganda NOC-U’s annual general meeting at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.

Kayangwe has two years still to serve on his term of office at URU.
He now joins Dr Donald Rukare (President), Beatrice Patience Ayikoru (General Secretary), Lydia Gloria Dhamuzungu (Assistant General Secretary), Moses Benon Mwase (2nd Vice-president), SadiK Zaid Nasiwu (Treasurer), Harriet Aya (Ex-co Member), Robert Jjagwe (Ex-co Member), Richard Asiimwe McBond (Ex-co Member) and Anne Mungoma (Ex-co Member) on the new Uganda Olympic Committee Executive Board.
The new Executive Board will serve a four-year term from 2025-2028.
